Your Identity in Christ: How God Sees You While the world encourages you to look outside of  yourself for your identity, your natural tendency is to search for your identity in external things. God, however, is unchanging. He is reliable. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. If you find your identity in Him, you will never be let down because He has proven time and time again to be faithful.

It is important, as you define your identity, that God isn't a piece of who you are, like “I am a Christian,” or ”I am religious,” or “I am spiritual”.  Understanding your identity in God starts with knowing who He is, what He declares about Himself, and what He reveals about you.

Your identity can be defined by who you are, not by comparing yourself to worldly things. To understand your identity as a disciple of God, you need to understand how He sees you: with pure love and acceptance. You are chosen, loved, and accepted.

That's why it's so important for us to purposely reflect on the good things from God's Word. It has the ability to renew our minds and help us see ourselves the way God sees us.
